Armed police storm Crewe street arresting man wielding samurai sword

Armed police descended on a residential street in Crewe arresting a man for the possession of an offensive weapon, after wielding a samurai sword in broad daylight
On Thursday 3 July, Cheshire Police were alerted to an address on Malbank Road, following reports of a man in the street with a samurai sword.
At 4.01pm, when officers arrived, the man had gone back into the address, refusing to come out.

Police tried to negotiate with the male, before forcing entry into the Crewe West property and arresting him for the listed offence.
The 37-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of affray and criminal damage and currently remains in police custody.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 4.01pm on Thursday 3 July police, were called to an address on Malbank Road, following reports of a man in the street with a sword.
"The man had gone back into an address and refused to come out for officers.

"Officers supported by armed police negotiated with the man before forcing entry due to a fire at the property.
"A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray, criminal damage, and possession of an offensive weapon and remains in custody."
