A third annual charity football match took place at Crewe Alexandra's stadium - in memory of a former lifelong fan and stadium announcer.

The Andrew Scoffin Memorial Match was held at Mornflake Stadium, Gresty Road, on the evening of Friday 12 May.

The first match, in May 2021, was organised by Andrew himself, to raise funds for The Christie, one of the largest cancer treatment centres in Europe and an international leader in research.

Sadly, Andrew passed away in July 2021 after a long battle with cancer.

This has been to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, who support people with cancer: emotionally, physically, and financially.

Compère for the evening was Crewe Alex stadium announcer, John Rodgers.

"Playing a memorial match in memory of him at this special place really means a lot to me personally and making money for his chosen charity tops it off.

"I'd like to thank all the players, bucket collections and the people who have donated it makes it all worth it."
