IT'S been a tough year for everyone.

Here at Crewe Nub News we are sure that 2022 is going to be better and brighter.

So we would like to take the opportunity to thank you the people of Crewe for your support in 2021 - we genuinely appreciate it.

Crewe Nub News was launched back in June 2020. Since then we have published thousands of local stories about Crewe, ranging from community news to people and business-based profiles as well as breaking news and sport, primarily coverage of Crewe Alex football club.

Our readership is growing with over 60,000 people coming to our site every month. In fact, November was a record month for us.

We thank you all for your support as we try to fill the void in local news left by the consolidation of the big media companies.

We'd love you to continue supporting us by reading our web site and enjoying our Facebook page because we care about Crewe.

We have covered the news about the town centre regeneration plans, the reopening of Crewe Market Hall and the developments with HS2.

We cover news neglected by other media such as the work of Crewe Town Council and the goings on at South Cheshire Magistrates' Court.

Crewe Nub News also has an extensive What's On list so you can find something to do in Crewe, a local pub or the many events hosted by the excellent team at the Market Hall.

That's local events, not things going in Chester or Tatton Park.

We also have regular news from Gresty Road, or the Mornflake Stadium to be more precise. Like many lower league football clubs these days the Alex find themselves without a print journalist assigned to covering them. But we are trying to fill that gap.

We have some excellent sponsors, whose banner ads you can see adorning our site. We are so grateful for their support.

But without readers there are no news sites. So it is to you we raised a glass to last night and it is to you our readers that we salute today on the first day of a new year.

We hope that you will continue to read our pages and support our efforts because we are putting Crewe first.

We hope you all have a peaceful new year and we'll see you all in 2022!
