40 jobs boost as final touches are made to Crewe's new Lidl store
THE final touches are being made to Crewe's new Lidl store which will see around 40 jobs created.
The supermarket giant has announced that fit-out works on the retail outlet off Mill Street have started.
Contractors Browns Shopfitting and Construction Ltd are expected to take three months to complete the project and the store is expected to be open by August.
Lidl GB says the store will have a sales area of 1,325m² and facilities will include an in-store and ample parking for both cars and bicycles.
It will form part of the new Dorothy Flude Retail Park alongside a drive-thru Costa Coffee outlet, which is due to open later this month, and a B&M store.
Lidl GB's Regional Head of Property, Dominic Bryan, said: "There's been much anticipation for this new Lidl store and it's great that we are now in a position to start the fit out works.
"We are extremely grateful for all the support that we have received so far and would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while we enter this next phase of the development."
Lidl GB says the new Crewe outlet forms part of an ongoing £1.3bn investment across the country in 2021 and 2022.
It has already recruited for some positions at the new store and you can find details about other roles here.
