A 29-year-old man from Cheshire who drove home after appearing in Crewe court to be disqualified from driving - has been jailed.
Ryan Tuckman, of Saltersbrook Grove, Wilmslow, had attended Crewe Magistrates' Court on Thursday (July 28), receiving a 40-month driving ban.
The 29-year-old then left the Crewe court in his Honda Acord vehicle and drove towards his home.
Tuckman was stopped by a police officer on the A34 Melrose Way in Wilmslow.
Following a search of the vehicle, a police officer located a cannabis bud in the car.
Tuckman was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and driving while disqualified.
He attended Crewe Magistrates' Court the following day on Friday (July 29) - sentenced to eight weeks in prison.
Sergeant Ian Smith, of Cheshire Constabulary's Roads and Crime Unit, said: "Tuckman knew he had been disqualified from driving yet still drove to court on the day he was due to be banned and brazenly got back into it to drive home.
"He clearly thought that his chances of being stopped by an officer were low and that he would get away with it.
"This should serve as a warning to other motorists who believe that they can get behind the wheel of a vehicle while disqualified.
"Not only is it against the law but officers can be anywhere, at any time meaning you are likely to also be caught."
On Monday (August 22), a 45-year-old of Richmond Road, Crewe, was sentenced to four years and six months in prison for burglary with intent to steal.
