Family-owned and run Swansway Motor Group has recently partnered with four community foundations across the West Midlands and North West, with plans to support them in 2024.

Partnering with Cheshire Community Foundation in the summer of 2023, Swansway Motor Group made an initial donation of £10,00 to the Crewe Fund.

Originally set up by Bentley Motors, it has now received donations from several local businesses, including Baywater Healthcare, The Guinness Partnership and Morning Foods.

The fund allows local businesses to support causes in the Crewe area that they may not previously have been aware of.

Cheshire Community Foundation ensures these donations meet the needs of the charities in the most effective way, whilst giving the businesses insight into the impact of their donation.

It was important to Swansway Motor Group to get involved with this fund, with its Head Office, Accident Repair Centre, Fleet Division and six dealerships all being based in Crewe.

After a successful first donation, Swansway has donated a further £7,500 to Cheshire Community Foundation to support homeless people in the Cheshire area.

Swansway were keen to get involved with more community foundations and has recently selected Forever Manchester, Community Foundation for Lancashire, and Community Foundation for Staffordshire as their next partners.

Donating £5,000 to each community foundation, Swansway will now be working alongside the teams in each area to spend this money.

Swansway's decision to partner with more community foundations comes from the benefits of working with Cheshire Community Foundation.

All community foundations carry out thorough due diligence procedures to ensure the grants given to each cause are utilised in the most effective and impactful way.

Cheshire Community Foundation said: "Swansway are the ideal corporate partner for community foundations.

"They truly care about the community in which they operate, and they understand our commitment to research-led grants programmes, addressing the highest priority challenges that local people face.

"Sadly, the need for support in Crewe is increasingly acute, and we would welcome the involvement of more businesses as we pool resources to achieve even more.

"We are so grateful to Swansway for their socially responsible approach to business and delighted to be their partner in local giving."

The community foundation supports causes of varying scales, intending to always focus on those most in need.

Community foundations also support causes that benefit as many people as possible in the most effective way, with a concentration on longevity and sustainability for the chosen causes.

Swansway Motor Group director, David Smyth, said: "It is our pleasure to be partnering with the community foundations in these areas.

"At Swansway Motor Group we often give back to the local communities where we have a dealership.

"These partnerships will help us to support important causes and tackle issues in the local area we may not have been aware of without the brilliant work of the teams in Cheshire, Manchester, Lancashire and Staffordshire."
