This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of health and safety strategy, culture, and systems-without inheriting legacy processes or managing a team. You'll be the architect of a modern, robust, and scalable H&S framework that supports safe operations across the UK.

Day to Day

  • Design and implement a national health and safety strategy tailored to the fuels industry across 35 depots nationally
  • Develop policies, procedures, SSOW and compliance frameworks from scratch
  • Lead risk assessments, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide expert guidance to operational leaders and frontline teams
  • Ensure full compliance with UK legislation, industry standards, and best practice
  • Build a positive, proactive safety culture across all sites
  • Ownership of reporting, auditing & trend analysis
  • Act as the organisation's subject-matter expert for all H&S matters

What will you bring?

  • Proven experience within a Health & Safety Management role
  • Experience within fuels or other hazardous materials is preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation and industry regulations
  • NEBOSH Diploma
  • Someone who thrives in a blank-canvas environment and enjoys building systems from the ground up
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to influence at all levels
  • A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to travel nationally across our 35 depots
