QUEENS Park's fireworks spectacular is scheduled to go ahead next month - although some traditional events are already being cancelled around the country.

The 2020 fireworks display was called off because of Covid, but the event is due to go ahead this year [on Friday, November 5], organisers Crewe and Nantwich Lions say.

Rising coronavirus rates and issues with insurance cover have forced organisers to call off larger events around the country, including in Nottingham.

But the Lions volunteers expect to be out in force at Queens Park for what is always a well-attended fireworks show.

Gates open at 5pm and admission is £5 for all those over five. All proceeds go to local charities.

Elsewhere, The Alpha Omega 2021 Halloween Spooktacular organised by Blitz Fireworks returns to Nantwich Show Ground on Saturday October 30.

The Betley Bonfire and Fireworks is also scheduled for Saturday, November 6 at Betley Court Farm. The fireworks start at 8pm and prices are £13 adults and £7 under-14s.
