AT Nub News we have launched a weekly round up of what's on in Crewe each weekend.

Every Thursday we bring you our top picks of the events being held in the area that are listed on our What's On section for the coming weekend.

With Christmas now just a month away you can get into the spirit by checking out the Lumen trail which coincides with the switching on of Crewe's town centre lights.

There's a pop-up market event at Crewe Market Hall on Saturday and Sunday.

While on the live entertainment scene a legendary local band has embarked on their farewell tour.

1. Lumen Lite in Crewe town centre

While the traditional light's switch on and Lumen has been scaled down this year because of rising Covid cases, Crewe Town Council has planned a series of events to give the town centre a festive feel.

Lumen Lite is a self-guided illuminated arts trail which has been set up in the town centre with the help of the team from Blackpool Illuminations. It starts at 5pm tomorrow (November 26) and the installations will be lit up until December 12 (5-9pm).

You can download a trail map to help guide you around the lights show, which includes Aqualux, a installation of 48 water containers at Lyceum Square, the Spaceman at Christ Church and a TARDIS at Memorial Square. While the Municipal Buildings will be bathed in a lights show entitled Moon Folk.

You can read more about it in this article where there is a link to the download of the trail map.

2. Small Street Market Pop-ups

There will be plenty of variety at Crewe Market Hall's monthly pop-ups organised by Small Street Markets. The event, running over Saturday and Sunday, attracts a range of small traders and makers.

For details see here.

3. The Start's Farewell Tour

The Start have been regulars on the South Cheshire pub and club circuit for decades, where their dedication to the tunes of 2 Tone, Ska and Mod classics always guarantees a lively audience.

But the 'Start to the End Tour' will be the last chance to catch the band live locally, so don't miss it. Their appearance at the Market Hall on Friday night should be raucous - and you could make a night of it by combining the music with the lights show.

For details see here.

Elsewhere on the live scene German comic Henning Wehn is at the Lyceum on Saturday night. and rock and pop covers band Penny Exchange are at the Market Hall, also on Saturday night.
