EMERGENCY crews were called out to Broughton Road after a collision between a BMW and a van today.

One motorist was taken to Leighton Hospital as a precautionary measure, but police say there were no serious injuries as a result of the smash at the junction with Warmingham Road at around 11.30 this morning.

Broughton Road was closed while officers from Crewe Fire Station made the vehicles safe.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "Police attended the scene and found there had been a collision between a silver BMW and a white panel van.

"The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and there were no reports of any serious injuries."
