BETLEY are the early frontrunners in the CREWE REGIONAL SUNDAY LEAGUE after a crushing 6-0 win over newly-promoted Talbot.

Danny Lavalette hit a hat-trick, John Proudlove scored twice and Mitch Weedall got the other goal as Betley picked up their second Premier Division win.

Crewe Athletic are in second place but their clash at George and Dragon was called off.

Willaston White Star earned their third consecutive draw with Azrahul Haque and Lucas Synowicz on the mark against Broadhurst FC.

White Star also missed a penalty kick and it may have been decisive as Danny Griffiths and Dom Johnson netted for the visitors as it finished all square (2-2).

Winnington SC thrashed bottom club NHB 5-0 with goals from Jack Duffy (2), Joel Hind, Tom Gough and John Buckley.

Faddiley, who unable to fulfil their first two scheduled fixtures, finally began their season with a 5-3 win over Cheshire Cheese. It was all square (3-3) at the break, but Faddiley had the better of the second half.

Their goals came from Callum Hassall (2), Richard Ford (2) and Joe Buckley. The Cheshire Cheese scorers were Ben Reddock, Keiron Banks and Nick Lewis-White.

The Lions beat Raven Salvador 3-0 with goals from Jordan Prince, Mike Blundell and Russell Schofield.

In Division One, Winsford Over had another big win, beating Ruskin Park 7-0 with goals from Lewis Young (2), Will Austin, Will Igoe, Matt Stanton, Tom Stanton and Jamie Rice.

Nantwich Pirates had been somewhat at sea this season, but they finally earned a point after a 3-3 draw with Princes Feathers, who remain unbeaten.

In a fluctuating match, Pirates were 2-0 up at half time, thanks to goals from Wayne Garnett and Gary Gordon. It was a good way to finish his local career for Gary, who emigrates to New Zealand tomorrow.

Princes Feathers staged an excellent second half come back and seemed to have won the game when they netted a third goal very late on, but veteran defender Michael Brown salvaged a point for The Pirates with a last-gasp equaliser.

The Princes Feathers scorers were Lewis Larkin, Charlie Fisher and Jacob Griffin.

There were three games involving Regional League Division One teams in the Crewe FA Sunday Vase.

Cooper Buckley had started the season with two big wins in the League, but they left it very late to defeat a resilient Sandbach Town side 2-1.

The visitors took the lead with a Lewis Barker goal Cooper Buckley equalised with a second half penalty from Ashley Edwards.

Sandbach Town then made life difficult for themselves by having a player sent off for a second bookable offence, and Cooper Buckley utilised the one man advantage to net a late winner thanks to Josh Rowley.

C & N Utd. beat Leighton FC 1-0 thanks to a Tim Morris goal.

The game between Audlem and JS Bailey was abandoned because of a serious injury to a JS Bailey player, who needed hospital treatment.

In the CHESHIRE LEAGUE a goal from Nathan Southern secured Crewe FC a point from their local derby clash at Congleton Town Reserves (1-1).

After a slow start the Cumberland Avenue side currently stand in 16th place in the Premier Division and while they have several games in hand on their rivals it won't get any easier for them as they host third-placed Broadheath Central on Saturday (September 18).

Crewe FC's reserve side have enjoyed a super start to their league campaign and, in second spot, have a game in hand over leaders Egerton.

They maintained a 100 per cent record by dishing out a 6-2 thumping to AFC Knowsley Reserves at the Cumberland.

Ryan Moss netted twice and Louie McGarry, Solomon Okolo, Michal Rzepka and Charlie Harper were the scorers.
