A SPECIAL event to thank NHS workers for their efforts during the pandemic is being held at Crewe Market Hall.

'Thankyou NHS' is being hosted on Sunday, October 3 by community radio station Cat FM and sponsored by Crewe-based Swansway Group to honour and acknowledge all the efforts of local NHS workers.

The event is free to attend with a great line-up of live music, including Callum J Wright, Paul Taylor and Mark Gallagher and Faye McCallum.

There will be a dance performance from the Catherine Fraser Irish Dancers along with games, while an award ceremony for NHS team members will take place.

Starting at 12 noon and running until 6.30pm, the event will also provide an opportunity for the community to show support for the Mid Cheshire's Hospitals Children's Emergency Appeal.

The appeal is raising funds to ensure that children undergoing emergency medical care have the best possible experience in a a calming, child-friendly environment.

A spokesperson for Swansway Group said: "We are so looking forward to this event to thank and celebrate healthcare workers in our communities.

"With so many of our team members and their families supported by the Mid Cheshire Hospitals, we were absolutely delighted to lend our support to thank our local NHS workers who have done so much to support all our families, and never more so than in the last 18 months.
